SPSC Petition to the Scottish Parliament on the Elections & Sanctions PDF Print E-mail

"The committee does not often reach a unanimous decision on a petition; however, when it does, it clearly states its support for it. It might well be no more than a symbolic pronouncement, but we as a committee of the Parliament can say that we support the basis of the petition and agree that the Parliament should send the congratulatory message that you seek."

Motion: S2M-4923 Campbell Martin: Palestine That the Parliament congratulates the Palestinian people on their ability to conduct democratic elections while under Israeli occupation; calls for the ending of all sanctions against Palestine, and urges the parliamentary authorities to invite a Palestinian spokesperson to address the Scottish Parliament.

Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign's e-petition to the Scottish Parliament can be found on the Parliament’s website. This petition calls on "the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Executive and individual MSPs to cancel all contract(s) they have with Eden Springs water company."
