Welcome to the April e-newsletter of the Edinburgh branch of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign

This month marks the annual 'Palestinian Prisoners Day' to show solidarity with the prisoners and to highlight the illegal activities of the Israeli Prison System and of security multinational G4S who help run their prisons.

Thursday 3rd April - 7.30pm. Branch monthly meeting.

Come to our regular branch meeting this month. Meet with the members and help us plan for upcoming events and campaigns or just to take part in discussions about Palestine. 

All welcome. 

It's at the usual time of 7.30pm on Thursday 3rd April at the St John’s Church Centre on the corner of Lothian Road and Princes Street (enter by Princes St door).


Saturday 5th April : Sainsburys STOP! Campaign

Once again we will back at Sainsburys on Saturday 5th April outside their stores all around the city. We want the supermarket chain to stop trading with occupation profiteers.

We will be collecting signatures from customers and public at these locations. Join with us. Contact us now!

The first meeting of the SPSC Members Women's Committee will take place in Edinburgh this month. It will be at 2.00pm on Sunday 13th April in the Augustine United Church on King George IV Bridge.

Thursday 17th April - 7.30pm: Monthly Divestment Meeting

Our monthly meetings on Divestment from Israel continue. The next is on Thursday 17th April at 7:30pm where we will be discussing the Lothian Pension Fund. 

We meet as normal in St John's Church on the corner of Lothian Road and Princes Street (enter by Princes St door).


Thursday 17th April - Palestinian Prisoners' Day 

On Thursday 17th April activists all around the world will show their solidarity with Palestinian prisoners. In the UK a national action is being organised culminating in the G4S AGM in June. 

Sign the online petition against these jailers for Israel. G4S petition

Here in Scotland, G4S have contracts with energy suppliers. Therefore they may arrive at your home to read your gas or electricity meter. 

Here's what you can do to protest your objection to the presence of G4S in the Israeli prison system. Don't let G4S meter readers into your home
