DESCRIPTION:Scottish PSC presents: \nEman Al Haj Ali – We won’t be silenced\nA personal story of resisting Israel’s attempts to close down Palestinian voices\nIn Cafe Recharge\, Galashiels – 18th August at 7pm \nEman Alhaj Ali is a Palestinian freelance journalist\, writer\, translator\, and storyteller from Gaza and currently based in Ireland. Her writings appeared on a variety of international and local websites\, such as the New Arab\, the Electronic Intifada\, Al Jazeera English\, the Nation\, Mondoweiss\, the Middle East Eye and many others\, . She is a member of We Are Not Numbers\, and contributed to a variety of books and anthologies\, such as “We Were Seeds” and “We Are Not Numbers”. \nJoin us to hear Eman speak on her recent experiences in Gaza\, the deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists\, and how the struggle to share the story of the genocide with the world continues. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, 30th August\, Scottish PSC branches nationwide will once again take action against variety store chain Home Bargains\, to oppose their continued stocking of products originating from apartheid Israel. The campaign is getting momentum\, as comrades in Belfast\, Sheffield\, Halifax\, York and beyond are all working hard to ensure the retailer ceases all trading with the genocidal state. \nHome Bargains sells an overwhelming number of Israeli-made wet wipes\, cleaning products and skin care products – products made in illegal Israeli settlements\, using an unsustainable amount of water\, stolen from Palestinians in the West Bank and controlled by the Israeli military. \nSkin care products sold in Home Bargains\, such as the “Dead Sea Collection”\, also exploit natural resources from the Dead Sea region – a region Palestinians are not even allowed to enter. \nJOIN US! \nThe Scottish Borders Branch is taking part in the day of action at Home Bargains stores across the city\, from 11:00 AM\, Saturday\, 30th August: \nHome Bargains\, Stirling Street\, Galashiels TD1 1YB \nWhile you’re here\, sign and share our letter to Home Bargains’ CEO\, Tom Morris\, demanding that he stop complicity in the Israeli apartheid and genocide. \nView all participant cities: Aberdeen\, Dundee\, Galashiels\, Hamilton\, Edinburgh\, Perth

DESCRIPTION:Activism looks different in rural areas.\nThere are unique contexts\, challenges and logistics to consider.  \nAre you keen to be involved in campaigning but not sure how to go about it in your local area?\nHave you felt isolated in your support for the rights of Palestinian people?\nAre you part of a group that has stories\, experiences or successes to share?\nWe want to hear about it! \nAs the UK government and Police Scotland increase their suppression of our rights to protest\, we need to be informed and united in our resistance. \n  \n\n  \n  \nArgyll & Bute branch welcome you to the Three Villages Hall in Arrochar\, for an afternoon of talks\, workshops and networking.\nHear from SPSC members who have recently visited occupied Palestine and will share important messages from the people they met there \nJoin a workshop from the Scottish Community and Activists Legal Project to ensure that you Know Your Rights \nLearn about current campaigns that YOU can share in your local community\, or join from home \nNetwork and chat with like minded people \n  \n  \n\n  \nPlease arrive for an 11am start. \nThere is limited car parking at the hall\, with on street or paid car parks nearby. \nWe’ll have a full programme until around 3pm –  a light lunch is included in the registration fee of £6pp. \nThere will be merchandise\, t-shirts\, books on sale on the day and donations to the SPSC No One Left Behind fighting fund are gratefully received. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nPlease buy your ticket here : https://square.link/u/kbiWSSBv \nSpaces are limited so we recommend booking your ticket in advance – before booking your travel or accommodation.\nPlease email argyllandbute@scottishpsc.org.uk with any queries\, accessibility or dietary needs beforehand so we can do our best to accommodate.
