DESCRIPTION:Protest Barclay’s complicity and profiting from genocide\nBarclays is bankrolling Israel’s genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza. \nA report published in 2024 detailed Barclay’s financial ties to companies producing weapons and military technology used in Israel’s attacks on Palestinians. \nIn addition\, Barclays has an agreement with Israel to act as a ‘primary dealer’ for its government bonds. This means it helps Israel directly to raise money to fund its genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. \nThe Palestinian BDS National Committee is calling on concerned people to boycott all Barclays services as well as for all financial institutions to divest from Barclays until the bank ends its grave complicity in Israel’s attacks on Palestinians\, \nJoin us for our bi-weekly (Wed & Sat) demonstrations at Barclays Bank on Princes Street (next to Apple store).

DESCRIPTION:Join our meeting for an open discussion on building solidarity with Palestine\, in the February session we will consider attitudes to the armed forces and the Police.\nDiscuss how we can deepen our solidarity with Palestine\, whilst exploring the role of UK armed forces and policing as tools of state power\, and consider what our attitudes toward them should be. How accurately are armed forces and police typically portrayed and viewed in our society? What role do they play in repression\, and control? The session will be participatory and reflective\, with differing perspectives encouraged. \nThis meeting is for members and will take place at Augustine United Church\, if you are not yet a member you are welcome to come along\, find out more about our campaigns and join up.
