DESCRIPTION:Organised by Midlothian TUC with support of Midlothian Council\, the International Workers’ Memorial Day commemoration takes place at George V Park\, Bonnyrigg.\nInternational Workers’ Memorial Day is the day we remember workers across the world who have paid the ultimate price in their workplaces. \nThis may be as a result of health and safety negligence\, or in the case of Palestinian workers\, the deliberate targeting and slaughter of those doing their jobs. \nWreaths will be laid in their memory – and the commemorative address will be given by Charlie Allanson-Oddy of Health Workers for Palestine. \nThe SPSC Trade Union group encourage activists to attend and pay your respects. \nCome along and help us to “Remember the Dead and Fight for the Living”

DESCRIPTION:Protest Barclay’s complicity and profiting from genocide\nBarclays is bankrolling Israel’s genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza. \nA report published in 2024 detailed Barclay’s financial ties to companies producing weapons and military technology used in Israel’s attacks on Palestinians. \nIn addition\, Barclays has an agreement with Israel to act as a ‘primary dealer’ for its government bonds. This means it helps Israel directly to raise money to fund its genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. \nThe Palestinian BDS National Committee is calling on concerned people to boycott all Barclays services as well as for all financial institutions to divest from Barclays until the bank ends its grave complicity in Israel’s attacks on Palestinians\, \nJoin us for our bi-weekly (Wed & Sat) demonstrations at Barclays Bank on Princes Street (next to Apple store).
