DESCRIPTION:SPSC Mick Napier will appear in court this Friday\, 6th June\, for supposedly ‘frightening’ Barclays staff and ‘blockading’ the bank’s Glasgow Branch at a #BoycottBarclays Campaign protest. This will be conjoined with an allegedly ‘religious’ crime offence\, six days earlier at Kelvingrove during a demonstration against Glasgow Friends of Genocide Israel (masquerading as the ‘Jewish Community’). \nWe’re calling on our members and supporters to stand in solidarity at the Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday! At 9:00 AM\, we’ll hear a few words from Australian academic Dr. Tim Anderson on the repression of those campaigning against serial aggressive wars and genocide. \nTim was convicted over the years of conspiracy to murder\, plotting a bombing and was fired from Sidney University. Both convictions were overturned\, and Tim was awarded compensation. His dismissal was ruled illegal. \nTim Anderson is Director of the Sydney-based Centre for Counter Hegemonic Studies. For more than 30 years\, he worked at Australian universities\, teaching\, researching\, and publishing on development\, human rights and self-determination in the Asia-Pacific\, Latin America and the Middle East. In the 1970s and 80s\, he was framed twice on terrorist charges but later cleared and paid compensation. In 2019\, he was dismissed from the University of Sydney for “offending its Israeli sponsors”. \n“Compared to that\, I only face low-level legal harassment\, but it’s still important that there is No One Left Behind at the Sheriff Court this Friday” – Mick Napier.

DESCRIPTION:In response to a planned meeting of “The Great British Strike” a Reform-backed alt-right mashup\, there will be a community event on Broad Street\, Aberdeen on Saturday 24 May at 11am\, called by Aberdeen Anti-Fascist Alliance. \nSPSC is encouraging all our members to join this event. The fight against the rise of the far right in the UK aligns with our fight for the rights of the people of Palestine\, and especially Gaza. \nWe want to support this action. We will take our flags and banners to ensure that the people of Gaza and the West Bank will not be forgotten. \nWe would also ask you to bring flowers\, ribbons etc to redo the memorial outside Marischal College to the children massacred in Gaza in a genocide that continues even today\, not just with bombings that wipe out entire families but also with starvation as an act of war. Aberdeen City Council keep removing the memorial but we will not forget the children of Gaza. \nThe misery continues as Israel still prevents sufficient food aid entering Gaza\, even as the UN warns that thousands of children could die of malnutrition in the next few days. Despite this\, our UK Labour Government continues to supply arms and military support to Israel. \nThis is a way to keep up the pressure for BDS and to ensure the people of Palestine are never forgotten.\nPlease come along and share far and wide. \n#FreePalestine

This was ethnic cleansing. This period is referred to as aitill\, or the Nakba\, meaning catastrophe in Arabic. On Monday\, just two days ago\, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Gaza’s more than two million people “will be moved” in a new ground offensive that will involve Israeli troops holding on to seized territory\, establishing a “sustained presence” in Gaza.” \n19 months of brutal murder\, 60 days of a complete blockade on every single piece of food and medicine\, and now plans announced for a Nakba of an even greater scale. What word can describe something bigger than a catastrophe? \nAnd all we get from our politicians are platitudes while they give taxpayer money to Iz-reel. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the steps of Glasgow Sheriff Court on 7th May at 9 am \nWhat’s Happening? \nOn Wednesday\, 7th May\, two separate trials have been merged to be dealt with together in Court 13. One alleges threatening and abusive behaviour inside the Barclays branch on Argyle Street during our\nprotest against its financing of genocide. The other charge is of religious hatred and excessive noise\, eight days later (6 October) outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery. \nWhy We’re Here \n\nBarclays Trial (Argyle Street): all protestors stood facing away from branch staff at all times\,\nmaking clear our anger was directed at Barclays’ profiteering from genocide\, not at individual\nemployees. It will be difficult to sustain a charge of threatening and abusive behaviour when the\naccused turn their backs on the victim throughout!\nKelvingrove Trial: Charges of “religious hatred” stem from complaints by Glasgow Friends of\nIsrael – a group notorious for manifestations of extreme racism over a long period of time\,\nincluding calls to “euthanise” Palestinians and welcoming the 2019 White supremacist massacre\nof 51 Muslims in New Zealand mosques.
