SUMMARY:No One Left Behind: Mick Napier on trial
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the steps of Glasgow Sheriff Court on 7th May at 9 am \nWhat’s Happening? \nOn Wednesday\, 7th May\, two separate trials have been merged to be dealt with together in Court 13. One alleges threatening and abusive behaviour inside the Barclays branch on Argyle Street during our\nprotest against its financing of genocide. The other charge is of religious hatred and excessive noise\, eight days later (6 October) outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery. \nWhy We’re Here \n\nBarclays Trial (Argyle Street): all protestors stood facing away from branch staff at all times\,\nmaking clear our anger was directed at Barclays’ profiteering from genocide\, not at individual\nemployees. It will be difficult to sustain a charge of threatening and abusive behaviour when the\naccused turn their backs on the victim throughout!\nKelvingrove Trial: Charges of “religious hatred” stem from complaints by Glasgow Friends of\nIsrael – a group notorious for manifestations of extreme racism over a long period of time\,\nincluding calls to “euthanise” Palestinians and welcoming the 2019 White supremacist massacre\nof 51 Muslims in New Zealand mosques. Our protest was against an event organised by advocates and partners of the genocidal Israeli regime.\n\nThese absurd charges echo two decades of legal harassment\, ranging from racial hatred and assault\nallegations to being stopped for “driving too slowly”—and follow convictions for organising unauthorised\ndemonstrations\, including two Covid-regulation breach convictions the same week as drunken\nDowning Street parties. \nWhat Next? \n\n9am – 10am: Rally on the courthouse steps – hear brief speeches\, connect with fellow campaigners\,\nand show solidarity.\n10am: Head into Court 13 to show support for the accused and opposition to the wave of repression\nof those opposing Israeli genocide.\n\nWhat’s at Stake? \n\nSetting yet another dangerous precedent for criminalising protest against genocide and the use of religious aggravation charges to deter opposition to the Israeli genocide.\nPermitting “hate-speech” charges to be used against vocal opponents of Israeli government\npolicy.\nFurther threats under the Terrorism Act and fresh Barclays-related racial-hatred charges loom.\n\nHow You Can Help \n\nBe There – Your presence amplifies our message: opposing genocide is not a crime.\nSpread the Word – Share this invitation on social media and in your networks.\nDonate – Legal costs are mounting; every contribution helps us fight back.\nStay Informed – Follow updates on the website www.scottishpsc.org.uk\n\nSolidarity Now – Resistance Always \nYour support on 7 May will send a clear message: when they target one of us\, they target all of us\, and we’ll stand together\, leaving no one behind. \nJoin Us on the Steps of Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday 7 May at 9:00 AM

Walid Ahmad was one of those children and was killed in March of this year\, following 6 months of detention without charge. He was just 17 years old. His body\, as is policy of the occupying forces\, has been withheld from his family. \nJoin us as we discuss the film\, the current situation for Palestinian prisoners & what we can do in Scotland to build effective solidarity. \nBook your ticket here \n

SUMMARY:Cairde na Héireann's Easter Rising Commemoration
DESCRIPTION:“(a) loyal Jewish Ulster in a sea of potentially hostile Arabism”\n-Herbert Samuel (1st British Governor of Palestine & UK Home Secretary during 1916) \nThe Palestinian and Irish struggles for liberation from occupation are irrefutably linked\, not just ideologically but politically. Many of the key figures in the creation of the Zionist neocolonial project of Israel had also played prominent roles in the occupation and subjugation of Ireland\, such as Arthur James Balfour\, Herbert Samuel\, and Henry Hugh Tudor\, to name a few. \nThe legacy of the Easter Rising not only dominated 20th-century Ireland\, but its effects are still felt today. The British Government’s decision to employ the internment policy\, which saw thousands of Irish republicans arrested and imprisoned without trial\, set in motion a chain of events that ultimately led to the Irish War of Independence and the partition of Ireland. \nA partition which would result in a decades-long war\, the barbaric treatment of Irish political prisoners\, wrongful convictions\, the dehumanisation of Irish people and the loss of hundreds of civilian lives. All the while\, the British-backed Zionist state of Israel employed the same tactics on Palestinians. \nJoin the Scottish PSC in the Palestine Bloc on Saturday\, 26 April\, as part of Cairde na Héireann’s Easter Rising Commemoration March through Glasgow. Stay for the rally afterwards\, where we will hear from Irish activists and SPSC Co-Founder Mick Napier.

SUMMARY:National demo
DESCRIPTION:Israel has now been given a clear green light by Trump to complete the annihilation of Gaza. Nothing is off-limits. Netanyahu has wilfully wrecked the ceasefire\, bombing and slaughtering thousands more to protect his own political back. The regime is now on its final\, merciless rampage\, its leaders openly calling for the emptying of Gaza\, another genocidal war crime. \nRulings and warnings on the genocide by the ICJ and UN\, alongside all major legal and human rights bodies\, are being treated with utter contempt. The regime is openly murdering any Palestinian in its genocidal way\, as with the horror execution of 15 Red Crescent ambulance crew and first responders. Brazen bombing of hospitals and mass torture of prisoners continues\, in violation of all basic rules of war. International law is being openly trashed. \nWestern protection of the regime’s leaders and their crimes is shamefully ongoing\, with Netanyahu given cover to fly across the EU without his ICC arrest warrant being invoked. Pogroms\, ethnic cleansing and gathering annexation in the West Bank is also being met with cowardly words and handwringing inaction. The regime is acting with total impunity. \nTrump\, Starmer and most EU leaders are not just complicit but party to Gaza’s apocalypse. Swinney and the Scottish Government are also deeply implicated by continuing to fund the arms companies supplying weaponry for the genocide\, and still refusing to even call it a genocide. \nThe squirming silence of our leaders is matched only by the craven exonerations of the BBC and other Western media. The callous executions and calculated massacre of the 15 ambulance crew and first responders was disgracefully headlined by the BBC as “a mistake”. British state media is an active party to the genocide\, mitigating\, normalising and hushing Israel’s crimes. \nMarch to demand an end to the SILENCE AND COMPLIANCE! \nSHOUT OUT TO SAVE GAZA BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! \n📅 Saturday 19 April\n🕧 Gather\, 12.30pm\, March\, 1pm\n📍 Glasgow Green\, McLennan Arch
