DESCRIPTION:Stand in Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners\nJoin us on Saturday as we continue our campaign to pressure Home Bargains to end their support for genocide and occupation\, via their ‘Made in Israel’ production line. \nAt the same time we will be highlighting the latest atrocities committed by Israel\, including the passing of a law sanctioning the death penalty for Palestinians (and only Palestinians) resisting an occupation (their legal right under international law)\, recent state terrorism in Gaza and the West Bank\, as well as Israel’s illegal war on Iran and massacres in Lebanon. \nWe stand firmly with Palestinians in their demand for boycott\, divestment and sanctions of Israel. \nSign the petition to demand Home Bargains stop selling apartheid goods here.

SUMMARY:ABERDEEN: Prisoners Day Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join this public event on Friday 17th April to mark Prisoners Day calling for the freedom of 9\,600 Palestinian political prisoners in addition to the unknown number of Gaza detainees held in military camps and torture centres run by the occupation. This includes 3\,532 ‘administrative detainees’ held without trial or charge. \nPrisoners Day has been marked annually since 1974 when prisoner Mahmoud Hijazi was released by the occupation in the first prisoner exchange between the Palestinians and ‘Israel’. It marks Palestinian resistance and the endless capacity of the Palestinians to oppose the occupation. In this vein\, we will be screening the film Palestine ’36 by Ammemarie Jacir narrating Palestinian resistance to the British Occupation. We will also hear contributions and first hand reports from former Palestinian political prisoners. \nAs ever\, Palestinian food will be served\, in keeping with Palestinian tradition.
