SUMMARY:Scottish National Demonstration: Nakba Ongoing
DESCRIPTION:NATIONAL DEMO in GLASGOW – Saturday 23 May\nAssemble at McLennan Arch\, Glasgow Green from 12.30 march off at 1pm\nFrom 1948 to the present day\, the Nakba has been a continuous catastrophe for the Palestinian people. They have seen the seizure of their homes\, land theft and mass displacement\, infamous massacres\, illegal occupation\, systematic apartheid\, horror pogroms\, a starvation siege\, and now outright genocide – an entire history of oppression\, ethnic cleansing\, genocidal suffering\, and the trauma of exile. And yet\, within and beyond these stolen lands\, resistant Palestinians still hold their keys\, their land titles\, and the legal right of return. \nGenocide expanding \nFrom the slaughter of Gaza and purging of the West Bank\, the ‘Greater Israel’ regime is using the same genocidal blueprint of mass murder\, terror and displacement of populations in Lebanon\, Iran and across the region\, all met\, again\, by defiant\, heroic resistance. \nGenocide protesting \nIn the face of Starmer’s direct part in the genocide\, and shameful purging of conscientious protest\, we must also remain resolute in our support for the continuing Nakba generations – for all the peoples of Gaza\, the West Bank\, Lebanon and Iran – as we keep marching and mobilising to halt the genocide\, end Trump’s wicked wars\, and halt the savage abduction\, torture and rape of Palestinian prisoners\, now facing illegal execution in the regime’s horror jails. \nJoin us on 23 May to show your enduring solidarity with the people of Palestine and all those engaged in the regional resistance.

SUMMARY:ABERDEEN UNITY MARCH - Join the Palestine bloc
DESCRIPTION:Aberdeen has a proud history of fighting racism and fascism. As far-right voices try to divide our communities\, we come together to say: no to racism\, no to hate! \nFrom our streets in Aberdeen to the streets filled with rubble and blood in Gaza and across Palestine\, we stand with people who have endured displacement\, oppression\, and injustice\, yet continue to resist\, organise\, and demand their rights with courage and dignity! \nAround the world millions have risen to challenge these injustices\, marching\, speaking out\, and refusing to stay silent in the face of oppression. That same spirit is here\, in Aberdeen. \nWe march for refugees escaping desperate situations.\nWe march for our neighbours facing racism on our streets.\nWe march for those suffering daily in Palestine\, and in Lebanon\, Syria\, Congo\, Sudan\, and Iran. \nJoin the unity march this Saturday 18th April at 10:30am. \nStand with local campaigners\, trade unions\, faith groups\, and all who believe in a city that welcomes\, not excludes. Together\, we are stronger united. \n  \n

SUMMARY:ABERDEEN: Prisoners Day Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join this public event on Friday 17th April to mark Prisoners Day calling for the freedom of 9\,600 Palestinian political prisoners in addition to the unknown number of Gaza detainees held in military camps and torture centres run by the occupation. This includes 3\,532 ‘administrative detainees’ held without trial or charge. \nPrisoners Day has been marked annually since 1974 when prisoner Mahmoud Hijazi was released by the occupation in the first prisoner exchange between the Palestinians and ‘Israel’. It marks Palestinian resistance and the endless capacity of the Palestinians to oppose the occupation. In this vein\, we will be screening the film Palestine ’36 by Ammemarie Jacir narrating Palestinian resistance to the British Occupation. We will also hear contributions and first hand reports from former Palestinian political prisoners. \nAs ever\, Palestinian food will be served\, in keeping with Palestinian tradition.

SUMMARY:Speaker event: Erik Helgeson\, Swedish Dockworkers Union
DESCRIPTION:Erik Helgeson\, Vice-Chair of the Swedish Dockworkers’ Union\nJoin us for a rare opportunity to learn from a high profile International trade union activist\nDockworker and trade union activist Erik Helgeson is coming to Scotland to share lessons from the front line of international labour solidarity! \nAs a leading figure in the Swedish Dockworkers’ Union\, Erik helped organise bold industrial action for Palestine and has became a symbol of workers standing up for their principles in the face of union-busting attacks. \nHe will describe how his employer seized on the action\, using it as a pretext to dismiss him\, the case is now proceeding through the Swedish Labour Courts. \nAn international fundraising campaign has enabled the union to employ Erik directly allowing him to continue to carry out his responsibilities sending a clear message to the port employers that union-busting will not pay off. \nJoin us for a powerful discussion on how workers can act ethically and strategically on international issues. \nWe will look at worker power\, union democracy\, and what Scottish trade unionists can learn from struggles for Palestine in workplaces across the world – and crucially how we can take action of our own. \nErik is also speaking in Glasgow and in Edinburgh at the Workers Day School for Palestine. \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Scottish National Demonstration: Resist Trump's Gangster Grab
DESCRIPTION:Resist Trump’s gangster grab on Gaza!\nTrump is trying to run the world like a mafia don. His ‘Board of Peace’ is a criminal front for genocidal accomplices in the gangland seizing of Gaza.\n\nPalestinians must decide their own future and have their indisputable rights respected. This brazen denial of Palestinian self-determination is a naked attempt to supplant the UN\, and an egregious assault on international law.\n\nTrump’s attempted takeover of Gaza is part of a global\, mafioso-styled expansion of empire through imperialist invasion\, kidnap and extortion – intimidations\, land grabs\, resource theft\, militarist policing\, and a ‘protection’ racket that imperils us all.\n\nSave Gaza and the world from Trump and his marauding mob!\n\nSaturday 14 February\nAssemble\, 12.30pm\, March at 1pm\nMcLennan Arch\,Saltmarket\, Glasgow Green\n

SUMMARY:Imperialism & Community Resistance: With Speakers Live from West Bank
DESCRIPTION:Imperialism in Palestine and Community Resistance\nA Talk & Discussion with live link to Wassil Centre in Tulkarem (Simultaneous over 3 venues; Edinburgh\, Glasgow\, Aberdeen)\nSPSC and the Young Communist League present a talk and discussion on resistance\, with Palestinians living in Tulkarem joining by live link. \n\nIsraeli aggression and incursion into Tulkarem\, West Bank has intensified since 2023\, culminating in invasion in 2024. IDF brutality has escalated while the world’s attention has been on Gaza\, resulting in a desperate humanitarian situation.\n\n\nInfrastructure in the camp is insufficient to deal with the crisis. There is no hospital within or near Tulkarem camp. Volunteers\, including doctors\, nurses and ordinary residents have established make-shift first aid and rehabilitation rooms with the limited resources they can find. Upon attack\, the very first thing the IDF does is destroy these makeshift facilities and the supplies they have gathered.\n\nPalestinians in Tulkarem have not taken these attacks lying down. They have actively resisted Israel’s attempts to displace and ethnically cleanse their homeland.\n\nJoin us to hear direct from the West Bank and help fund raise to keep these first aid rooms open and stocked with supplies.\n\nRegister Edinburgh
