DESCRIPTION:Assemble at the Foot of the Mound EH2 2EL and march to Scottish Parliament EH99 1SP \nIn May 1948\, 77 years ago\, 750\,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes through violence and force by Israel. This was ethnic cleansing. This period is referred to as aitill\, or the Nakba\, meaning catastrophe in Arabic. On Monday\, just two days ago\, “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Gaza’s more than two million people “will be moved” in a new ground offensive that will involve Israeli troops holding on to seized territory\, establishing a “sustained presence” in Gaza.” \n19 months of brutal murder\, 60 days of a complete blockade on every single piece of food and medicine\, and now plans announced for a Nakba of an even greater scale. What word can describe something bigger than a catastrophe? \nAnd all we get from our politicians are platitudes while they give taxpayer money to Iz-reel. Enough is enough. \nJoin us 17 May\, 2025 in Edinburgh. \nSpecial guest speakers will include Mustafa Barghouti\, Palestinian physician and politician and Neil Barnes\, who will speak on the intersections of sports and Palestine in Scotland.
