Gatherings around the UK are trying to build on Starmer’s recent dog whistle racism to cause division in our communities. \nThey seem to think that Scotland is a suitable place to promote their poison\, with 12noon gatherings planned in Glasgow\, Aberdeen\, Dundee\, Edinburgh and Inverness. \nA strong response in all these cities is needed to protect our communities and challenge the active support and cowardly silence that allows the Israeli genocide. \nThis week the UN stated that 14000 Palestinian children could die imminently due to Israel’s ongoing siege on Gaza\, as they continue to withhold baby formula\, food\, medicines\, and other life saving essentials that are prevented from reaching the starving Palestinians of Gaza.\nIsrael’s free reign to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians has for decades been made possible through Islamophobic propaganda and anti-Palestinian racism\, repeated by UK politicians and mainstream media. \nGather at St Giles Cathedral\, High St\, Edinburgh from 10am on Saturday. \n‘Fascists off our Streets!\n‘Stop Arms Sales to Israel’

DESCRIPTION:In the 1980s and early 1990s\, Dr Swee Ang worked as a trauma and orthopaedics consultant in the refugee camps of Lebanon\, with the United Nations in Gaza and the World Health Organisation in the Occupied West Bank. \nShe is the co-founder and Patron of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). \nIt is an outrage that Dr Swee Ang\, after a lifetime of selfless dedication to her NHS patients and the Palestinian people\, was barred from speaking by the BMA after being smeared as ‘antisemitic’. \nBut we live in a time of outrage piled upon outrage\, of active complicity in the genocide by political and corporate bodies\, or insidious silent complicity by virtually every other elite institution in the country – police\, sporting\, cultural\, media\, educational\, and others. \nIt is fight or flight time – we must fight back or face tragic consequences. \nRegistration is required – book your place here \nRegistration for these meetings is free\, but we ask for a donation towards the SPSC No One Left Behind campaign in support of those facing criminal charges or imprisonment for opposition to genocide.

DESCRIPTION:All welcome\nCome along the Mid Argyll Youth Development Services – MAYDS – building for 6.30pm to watch the documentary film Jenin Jenin\, and stay for tea and discussion after the film. \n\nMarch 2002: The Israeli troops have marched into the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin\, razing the largest part of the camp to the ground and killing scores of civilians. Israel has been accused of committing war crimes\, prompting the United Nations to assign an independent commission to visit the camp. But Israel has forbidden it.\n\n\nDirector Mohammed Bakri visits the demolished camp and interviews survivors of all ages. Jenin\, Jenin is dedicated to the memory of Iyad Samudi\, the film’s executive producer\, who was shot and killed after the production of the film was wrapped.\n\n\nLong banned by the Israeli Film Board\, Mohammad Bakri’s poignant documentary remains a powerful statement on the plight of the Palestinians in their continuous quest for liberation.\n\n\nFree to attend – donations welcomed\, and there will be SPSC merchandise such as t-shirts\, books and other wee items for sale.
