On Tuesday 5th Nov at 6pm at the Scottish Parliament, Ken Macintosh MSP invited Larry Rich, director of Development and International Public Relations, Zionist Speaker and defender of Apartheid racist Israel.

The Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC) and students from Edinburgh University organised a demonstration outside the Parliament for this event. The group waved Palestinian flags and spoke of the endless and continued Israeli crimes.
3 members of the SPSC and 3 students who had got tickets to the event individually stood up at intervals during the meeting to disrupt and to give Palestinians a voice.
Torcuil, a SPSC member, who stood up for Palestinian rights inside the Parliament explained,
“The systematic oppression of Palestinians, the violation of their human rights, and the continuous building of illegal settlements on Palestinian land has, tragically, been going on for as long as I can remember. In supporting the protest against Larry Rich and his representation of brand Israel I want to send a message to the Israeli government and it’s supporters that the ongoing persecution of Palestinians and the denial of their human rights and land is simply not acceptable.”
Tom McVite, also a SPSC member said,
‘I objected to the Larry Rich talk in the Scottish Parliament as the sole purpose of it was to whitewash Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people. Zionists should not be given a platform to promote the state of Israel without acknowledging the crimes being committed against the Palestinian people. The talk itself made Israel out to be a state where everyone had the same rights and the only violence was that of rockets being fired from Gaza into Israel. I could not remain silent and stood up to set the record straight.’
The message was clear, Scottish people will not accept racist speakers and those who try to justify ethnic cleansing. Free Palestine!
