Updates from Palestine

The Stop the JNF campaign and the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign have long worked to expose the role of the Jewish National Fund (JNF KKL) and the direct links connecting Scotland to developments in Israel and occupied Palestine.

Over the years, we have documented how JNF-funded projects have been connected to the expansion of illegal settlements and greenwashing in the West Bank. The theft of land and ethnic cleansing by the Israeli government, military, and violent settlers, with JNF KKL as a participant, is escalating, and we continue to receive troubling news from our partners south of Bethlehem.

UPDATE: Received from Stop the JNF Plant a Tree in Palestine contact on 4th March 2026

A new catastrophe is unfolding in the villages south of Bethlehem.

This afternoon, we were shocked by a decision from the Israeli army to confiscate dozens of dunams of land located along the main road connecting the villages of southern Bethlehem to the outside world. My village is one of nine Palestinian villages affected by this unjust decision.

According to the information we received, the army will soon begin bulldozing these lands in preparation for the construction of a new separation wall that will further isolate our communities and cut off the lifeline that connects our villages to the rest of the world.

These are not just pieces of land. They are fields planted by our fathers and grandfathers, filled with olive trees and grapevines that bear witness to our history and deep connection to this land. Every olive tree here carries the story of a family, and every dunam represents livelihood and life for the people of the village.

Today, we are witnessing yet another attempt to uproot us from our land and isolate our villages behind concrete walls. Yet despite the pain and injustice, we will remain rooted in our land—just like the olive trees that have stood here for centuries.
