The Palestinian struggle is a workers issue

The active solidarity of trade unionists is essential for effective action to support the Palestinian struggle.

The trade union movement has a long and proud tradition of supporting international liberation movements through solidarity actions. Workers played a key role in the movement against apartheid South Africa, and we remember the example of the East Kilbride engineers stopping jet engines going to Chile, preventing their use by the Pinochet dictatorship.

Solidarity is at the core of our movement – Palestinian liberation is a critical step towards our collective liberation!

We recognise expressions of support from the STUC and affiliates as positive developments towards mobilising Scottish workers. However, words are not enough and must be followed by actions. Building and strengthening relationships, and assisting workers to organise in the workplace is a key element of our Trade Union strategy.

With over 25 years of BDS campaigning practice and learning, we have a wealth of experience to share and build on.

We are here to support and partner with you to develop Scotland’s Palestine solidarity movement through community and worker mobilisations for Palestinian freedom, equality, and justice.
