Weird Zionist Aggression on Buchanan Street, Glasgow

This man threatening a member of the public at the Glasgow Friends of Israel stall on Buchanan Street, Glasgow, last Saturday (8 August 2026), is Walter Hecht, a wealthy businessman and fanatical Zionist. In the photo, we see him menacing a young man who accepted the invitation to stop at their public street stall but disappointed Hecht and his comrades by disagreeing with them on the matter of Israeli genocide.

During a purely verbal, non-threatening dispute, Hecht and GFoI leader Sammy Stein each produced a small spray bottle. Stein sprayed an unknown red liquid onto a young man's neck, while Hecht pointed at him with a different chemical spray bottle. Police officers arrived shortly afterwards - possibly in response to an alert from a member of the public - arrested Stein and frog-marched him to a waiting police car. He was taken to a Glasgow police station and charged with a criminal offence. It is not clear how long Stein was detained, what charges he now faces, or whether any bail conditions were imposed as a condition of his release from police custody.

This seems to have been something of a pre-planned double act. Walter Hecht is an uncle of Israeli army spokesperson Lt Col Richard Hecht. He is aiming a type of pepper spray which, if used, would require him to claim self-defence to avoid a charge of assault. Stein carries a different spray bottle containing a chemical dye to be used to identify the victim — the alleged attacker — enabling police to make an arrest. On this occasion, unlike previously, Stein's serial victimhood project will not even get to the stage of defeat in a Scottish court.

Stein is something of a full-time provocateur, who serially portrays himself as a victim of hate crime at the hands of Palestinian activists. These fantasies have been accepted too quickly and too often by Police Scotland and then amplified by the BBC, the Express, STV and other Scottish media, only to be dismissed by sheriffs.

Stein's attendance at a Royal Garden Party at Holyroodhouse may have helped to open these media platforms to his effusions about Scottish Jews living in fear of violence from opponents of Israeli genocide. The personal fabrications align with Stein's Zionist ideology, which insists that Jews cannot live safely outside Israel and should leave their home countries and move there. This alignment of the fake personal and the Zionist axiom of eternal worldwide antisemitism is never noticed by the media, who promote the narrative.

We await with interest and will report Stein and Hecht's recent and future treatment at the hands of Police Scotland following their politically motivated assault on a minor on a Glasgow street.
