Concealing war crimes

Like its UK counterpart, the JNF in Israel likes to depict itself as an environmental organization. One of its main contributions has been to conceal the remains of destroyed Arab villages through landscaping projects, such as "British Park" near the Israeli town of Bet Shemesh.

This not only helped to prevent the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes and farms, but also fulfils an important propaganda function, in erasing the brutal history of Israeli ethnic cleansing.

Dr Uri Davis, who spoke at two SPSC events in May 2004, has written a research report on the British Park, supported by the JNF in the UK.
