S4M-05982 Honesty on Nuclear Weapons in Scotland and in the Middle East allowed Scottish civil society and political representatives to maintain momentum towards a nuclear-free Scotland and a nuclear-free Middle East.
Israel is not only involved in the ethnic cleansing of Palestine but is the only regional nuclear military power. Israel has amassed a huge nuclear arsenal but has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty and refuses to allow inspection of its nuclear facilities by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Authority). At the same time Israel is threatening to attack Iran on the grounds that it might at some time in the future have the capability to develop a nuclear weapon. US intelligence sources report that Iran has no plans to develop a nuclear weapon.
