LLOYDS TSB AND INTERPAL
Jones, Lynne
That this House is disappointed that Lloyds TSB has refused to process international clearance payments for the British charity Interpal on the basis that the organisation is listed by the US Treasury as having connections to terrorism; is pleased that the Charities Commission recently cleared Interpal of all wrongdoing for a third time; believes that, in the light of the proposed state-ownership of 65 per cent. of voting shares in Lloyds TSB, the Government should act to reinitiate the bank’s processing of international clearance payments for Interpal; and encourages the Government to request that the US Treasury releases any relevant evidence of wrongdoing by Interpal to the Charities Commission, or else remove the charity from their blacklist.
