Israeli terror attacks spark protests across the UK

Sunday 28th December 2008

Edinburgh and Glasgow see hundreds turn out to

protest against Israeli terror attacks

Despite harsh weather conditions Scotland today saw hundreds of people turn out to protest against Israeli attacks that killed 280 and injured 700.  Similar protests were held across the UK in cities such as Birmingham, Manchester and London.  Abhorrence to the attacks was voiced around the world as the UK protests were echoed round the world in California, Arizona, West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordon, Syria and Iraq

Israel continued its war on the people of Gaza with a second day of bombings by F-16 war planes.  The Israeli planes and helicopters attacked tunnels used by the Palestinian to bring in food and fuel during the 18 month siege of Gaza

Adam Dean, of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign said: “Israel’s lust for blood goes on unabated while the world leaders either sit in silence or encourage Israel’s crimes against humanity.  The silence of the puppet Arab governments is heard loudest in the Middle East along with the voice of Mahmoud Abbas, the unelected Palestinian president, who is a traitor to his own people with his support of Israel.”

“When Israel tried to crush Hezbollah innocent civilians were targeted.  Now Israel is trying to crush the elected Hamas administration and is targeting civilians once again.  And once again the US and UK Governments actively encourage Israel in what the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights has called “crimes against humanity”

Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni commenting on the deaths of 280 Palestinians said “the operation is a success”

Livni also recently expressed her support for further ethnic cleansing when she said that “Israeli Arabs should find their 'natural home' in a Palestinian state”

Similar protest will be held in London, Birmingham and Manchester
