Boycott Day of Action: Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, March 29th

You are invited to attend Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, March 29th, when five Palestine solidarity campaigners appear in court charged with ‘racism’. Supporters of the accused, members of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, will participate one day early, Monday March 29th, in the Global BDS Day of Action, a date chosen to commemorate Palestine Land Day on March 30th every year.

Why?

  1. We protested Israeli cultural ambassadors, the Jerusalem Quartet, in response to the Palestinian call for BDS
  2. Land Day/Global BDS Day of Action commemorates one of many Israeli massacres of Palestinians protesting inside Israel against racist land confiscation, the core activity of Israel’s ethnic cleansing and apartheid.
  3. The charge against the Scottish boycott campaigners demonstrates UK government commitment to criminalise aspects of Palestine solidarity domestically, while sending arms, granting economic privileges, and supporting threats against Iran to protect Israel’s nuclear WMD arsenal.
  4. Palestinian resistance against colonisation, apartheid, occupation, and ethnic cleansing takes many forms: every form of resistance, peaceful or otherwise, is criminalised and violently repressed by Israel. Here in Britain we can easily defy Gordon Brown, Milliband and their legal minions: peaceful BDS activists in Palestine face repression, imprisonment, and torture at the hands of the brutal occupiers.

Please email, text or call us to us to confirm you will attend, so we can ask for a bigger court on the day.
