- during trial he was not allowed to see much of the evidence against him
- jailed for 18 years, first 11 in solitary
- guards not allowed to talk to him or be seen by him
- in the prison yard guards carride a portable structure to prevent him seeing anyone = torture
- Vanunu has given interviews to Scottish newspapers & talked with many Scots in Jerusalem

- Israel claims it is keeping Vanunu because he still holds information that is a security threat.

- should be allowed to leave Israel – this is all he wants

- support the rights of Glasgow University students to communicate freely with their elected Rector
- sizeable majority of Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government have declared their support for Vanunu
