The Petitions Committee of the Scottish Parliament decided to unanimously support the following petition:
"Petition by Mick Napier, on behalf of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, calling on the Scottish Parliament to congratulate the Palestinian people on their ability to conduct democratic elections while under Israeli occupation, to call for an ending of all sanctions against Palestine and to invite a Palestinian parliamentary spokesman to address the Scottish Parliament."
Campbell Martin MSP (Independent, West of Scotland) has since tabled motion S2M-4923 inside the Parliament covering exactly the same points (The wording has to be slightly adjusted for technical reasons).
It is up to all supporters of Palestinian rights to pull out all the stops to get their MSPs to sign up to Campbell Martin's motion. If you are willing to take part in a group lobby of your own MSPs, please contact the Scottish PSC to be put in contact with others in your area.
