Protest JNF Charity Shoot at Cowan’s Law: 4 June
The Jewish National Fund, experts in racist land administration, have long faced the opposition of Palestine solidarity campaigners in Scotland. The JNF is responsible for dispossessing tens of thousands of Palestinians of their lands, for example building the 'British Park' over the ruins of ethnically cleansed Palestinian villages. At its 2013 Congress, the Scottish TUC reinforced its commitment to opposing the activities of the JNF in enforcing an apartheid system in Israel and Palestine.
The JNF fundraiser at Cowan's Law on Tuesday 4th June (yesterday) was a washout.

The JNF is a key pillar of Israel's apartheid land system; Jewish-only colonies on ethnically cleansed Palestinian land. Their decision to have a fund-raising 'charity shoot' is pretty sickening given their working relationship with trigger-happy Israeli soldiers and settlers responsible for thousands of killings of Palestinian civilians.
Their retreat into remote Cowan's Law, however, is also a sign of weakness after they were denied the use of Bonnyton Golf Club last year as a direct result of rising protests against their fundraisers there. They had already terminated their annual bash at Glasgow Hilton after the massacres in Gaza in 2008.
SPSC is a member of Stop the JNF UK whose campaigning led to 68 MPs signing a motion calling for the JNF's charity status to be rescinded. David Cameron has since resigned as an Honorary Patron of the JNF UK, the first time in over 100 years the sitting Prime Minister has not been a JNF Patron. Miliband and Clegg have both declined invitations to become JNF Patrons.

A statement on the St Andrews planned protests from Scottish Jews for a Just Peace noted that the "JNF takes over Palestinian land – including homes of Palestinian refugees and land in the occupied territories – and will not lease or sell land to non-Jews".
Dr Hajo G Meyer, a staunch friend of Scottish PSC, who spent ten months in Auschwitz as a Jew and member of the Dutch Resistance, sent a message of support to the protest saying, " If I could, I would be with you to join your protest in support of universal values of freedom and justice and freedom from racist occupation".
If an increasingly frail 88 year-old veteran of the Dutch Resistance and Auschwitz would like to be there to fight for Palestinian rights, maybe you should as well?
