FIGHTERS ATTACK ISRAELI SOLDIERS - ISRAEL KILLS FAMILY
On this day in 1992, two days after Islamic Jihad members infiltrated into an Israeli Army training base and killed three Israeli soldiers, Israel assassinated a Hezbollah leader, Abbas Musawi together with his wife, their five year old son and four others. Within days, Hezbollah's leadership elected Mussawi's successor, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, who vowed swift revenge on Israel. During this time Israeli forces frequently shelled and raided Lebanese territory.
