PLANNED PROTESTS GET JNF DUMPED
On this day in 2013, an event to be held at the St Andrews Golf Hotel to raise funds for the Friends of the IDF and the JNF was cancelled on police advice in the face of SPSC planning for protests at the hotel. Some sort of fundraiser did go ahead that evening with invited supporters of Israel having to follow phoned instructions to proceed to a specific rendezvous point where a taxi took them in fours to a destination known only to the taxi driver. The organisers boasted of their 'successful evening'.

Auschwitz survivor Hajo Meyer sent a message of support for the protests against JNF & FIDF
From my personal experience I see many similarities between the treatment I was subjected to as a Jewish youth under Nazi regime in Germany and under occupation in the Netherlands and the experience of Palestinian youths today. An important example being that also I had no easy access to education, in fact I was expelled from it, until I found tricks to circumvent it. I also could not travel freely.
I strongly urge the Golf Hotel to cancel this atrocious event on Friday since it is a provocation to all who support human rights. If I could, I would be with you to join your protest in support of universal values of freedom and justice and freedom from racist occupation but I am afraid, I am a bit too old, 88 years. With my best wishes for success with your beautiful activities,
Yours truly, Dr Hajo G. Meyer

Planned protests force cancellation of JNF and Friends of the IDF joint fundraiser in Scotland
The Friends of the IDF fundraise for projects benefiting the Israeli Army and soldiers, an occupation force that brutalises, humiliates, kills and maims Palestinians, commits widespread human rights abuses to maintain the illegal occupation and settlements, and flouts international law. The cancellation is a further blow to supporters of such human rights abuses; in late 2012 Stevie Wonder pulled out of an FIDF fundraiser after realising the nature of the organisation.
Since our founding in 2000, SPSC has fought the racist JNF in Scotland. Before that the JNF f
