Palestine in Israeli School Books: Ideology and Propaganda in Education
with Prof. Nurit Peled-Elhanan, 18 August 2019
Nurit Peled-Elhanan, professor of language and education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is a 2001 co-laureate of the European Parliament's Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Her research on the negative portrayal of Palestinians in Israeli textbooks exposes the institutional basis of Israeli racism that underpins Israel's ongoing settler-colonial programme of dehumanisation and dispossession.
