Lajee Center (Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem) UK Arts And Cultural Tour 2012
16 Palestinian refugees from Lajee Center in Aida Camp will be touring the UK for 17 days in June on the 3rd UK Arts And Cultural Tour. The tour will include events from Aberdeen in the north of scotland all the way south to London. events will include Dabka shows, photography exhibitions, film screenings, and range of public presentations, about refugee rights and political prisoners.

Monday 11th June (ABERDEEN) Two members from the Centre will speak about their experiences as refugees and there will be discussion of the cause of political prisoners in Israeli jails and the incredible recent show of resistance which saw 2000 Palestinian prisoners embarking on hunger strikes. Tuesday 12th June (GLASGOW) Join us at the Scottish Youth Theatre as Glasgow hosts the Lajee Centre tour who will bring 12 Palestinian youth from Aida Refugee camp to Scotland and the rest of the UK. The event in Glasgow will showcase a photography exhibition throughout the day displaying work created by the young artists from the Lajee Centre in Bethlehem. In the evening the Theatre Studio doors will open at 7pm for people to be seated at 7:30pm for the main event to start. Our Palestinian friends will provide a presentation along with discussion about Aida camp, the refugee question resisting occupation and the role of international solidarity. The 12 youth will then give a performance of Dabka, traditional Palestinian Dance for the days finale.
