Trump calls a halt to Israel’s mass killing only until he gets his Nobel Peace Prize
Ethnic cleansing continues across the whole of Palestine
SPSC Statement, 9 October 2025
SPSC welcomes any immediate halt to the bombardment of Gaza and the mass killing of entire families. A ceasefire is urgently needed to save lives and allow humanitarian relief — but it is the very minimum of what is required.
A temporary pause cannot be treated as an endpoint. We must escalate our collective work to win justice and lasting liberation for the Palestinian people.
History shows that the Zionist entity has repeatedly broken agreements and ceasefires. We cannot be complacent. Any ceasefire agreement must include independent monitoring, humanitarian access, the safe return of displaced people, and credible guarantees for the release and protection of Palestinian hostages and detainees.
Palestinian liberation is not achievable through ceasefires alone. The brutal Zionist project of ethnic cleansing continues across the whole of Palestine. Freedom for Palestinians requires dismantling the settler‑colonial project and the apartheid structures that have oppressed Palestinians across the occupied territories and within Israel, which is also referred to as 1948 Palestine, for 77 years.
There can be no peace without justice. Those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity must be held to account. The occupation and its genocide enablers, including the US government itself, must face accountability through independent investigations, international law, and targeted sanctions. Concrete measures by states and institutions must be taken to end military, financial and diplomatic support for the apartheid state violence and oppression.
We call on our movement and allies to intensify pressure now: escalate boycott, divestment and sanctions campaigns, and continue to attend mass demonstrations. The ceasefire must be followed by systemic and significant change. We will continue to organise until liberation and justice are achieved.
