How feeble and bad faith is Bowen’s answer. His response to the question is an uncritical defence of the BBC, parroting that of Foreign Minister Miliband, who shifted from Starmer’s policy of genocide involvement to an evasion that this is not a matter for politicians but for the ICJ. It’s not a matter for journalists but for the ICJ. Do we ALL refuse to call out the Israeli genocide until the ICJ’s glacially slow procedures complete?
The senior BBC editor tries to interrupt the questioner and then sets up a straw man to avoid answering his question. No one ever said the BBC never mentions the word ‘genocide’, an absurd suggestion, but that its coverage is strongly skewed in favour of Israeli narratives. As the questioner says, this is ‘an objective fact”.
Jeremy Bowen well understands and works within the constraints imposed upon him by the Government-installed management.
