The SPSC Scottish Borders branch was established in November 2023 and has quickly grown to include around 50 active members, united in building solidarity with Palestine across the region – from Peebles to Galashiels.
The branch has made a significant impact through its tireless efforts. Members have been actively lobbying local MPs, participating in supermarket protests, organising regular rallies and vigils to honour healthcare workers and journalists in Palestine, and establishing a local Time to Divest Campaign.
Borders activists have garnered considerable media attention over the past year for its bold and visible actions. These include protests at the World Cycling event in Kelso, a collaboration with Red Card Israel Glasgow, and a recent blockade at Leonardo’s Edinburgh arms factory alongside Palestine Action.
The branch meets fortnightly at St James’ Church in Innerleithen on Mondays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, welcoming new members and supporters to join their efforts in standing up for Palestine.
