James Connolly Commemoration

Join us as at the 39th annual James Connolly Commemoration in Edinburgh, one of the main themes of this year’s event will be reinforcing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The event is politically independent (not aligned to any political party) and organised in conjunction with James Connolly’s home community.  Taking the form of a wreath laying ceremony at the James Connolly plaque in the Cowgate, with live music and speakers, including one from Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Edinburgh born James Connolly was a revolutionary socialist, trade union leader and a political theorist, executed tied to a chair – by British army firing squad in 1916.
