Jeff Halper and Majd Nasrallah of the One Democratic State Campaign challenge the paradigm of the occupation as divisive for Palestinians and explain the logic of a single democratic state in terms of a process of decolonisation with the clear aim of liberating both the oppressed and the oppressor. The charade of the so-called two state solution is replaced with cognisance of an already-existing reality, created by Israel, a single state from the river to the sea in which one ethno-religious group dominates and oppresses the other.
