Jim Malone served 30 years as an operational firefighter in Dundee and a Fire Brigades Union branch, brigade and regional official. He has been the FBU Palestinian support co-ordinator since the union’s Scottish Region “Dundee to Nablus” project started in 2011. He was part of the FBU delegation that delivered an appliance and donated fire kit to the vastly under-resourced firefighters of Palestine. The fire engine was driven from Dundee to Greece before being shipped to Haifa in Israel.
