ISRAELI "NATIONAL SYMBOLS" FAILURE
On this day in 2019, Israel announced plans for a second moon landing attempt, two days after its tiny robot fell the last 150m onto the moon’s surface and shattered to Israeli groans and understandable schadenfreude elsewhere. The technology came from arms manufacturer, Israel Aerospace Industries. The robot carried “Israeli national symbols” which is strange when the Israeli Supreme Court has ruled there is “no Israeli nation” (see 20/01).
Technology of Israel Aerospace Industries: Tested on Palestinians, Exported to the World
AI has long been recognized internationally as a leader in drone (zanana) development and technology. Zanana is the term coined by Palestinians in Gaza for the constant buzzing or whizzing sound generated by the omnipresent drones overhead. “A group of young boys and girls gathered in Al-Kattiba Square, west of Gaza City, using large pieces of wood and formed the word ‘LEAVE’, in hopes that the drone hovering over the skies of Gaza will read it. One of the participants said that they wish that they can live without the zanana, so at least they can sleep.
Palestinians in Gaza call the Israeli drones in the sky ‘zanana’, meaning a noise maker or buzz. Sometimes they call it the airplane of death”, according to Dr. Atef Abu Saif, in his 2014 study “Sleepless in Gaza”.
Israeli military industries fuel war crimes across Africa
The Israeli-armed South Sudanese military and government-aligned militias are employing a “scorched earth policy” characterized by the systematic rape of women and children, indiscriminate killings and the burning down of entire villages with families inside their homes, according to the UN report. South Sudan is not the only African country in which the Israeli arms industry is profiting from bloodshed.
How can there be "national symbols" of a nation that Israeli law insists does not exist?
‘Israeli nationality’ is expressly disallowed by the Israeli courts and the distinction between ‘nationality’ and ‘citizenship’ is enforced in Israel. It is indispensable to the system of state-enforced political and economic discrimination against Palestinians.
Israeli courts have repeatedly refused to allow Jewish Israeli citizens to amend their official ‘Jewish nationality’ to Israeli nationality on the grounds that, “There is no Israeli nation separate from the Jewish nation…composed…also of Diaspora Jewry”. Allowing Israeli nationality “would negate the very foundation upon which the State of Israel was formed.”
Abroad, Israel maintains the fiction of an "Israeli national identtity" but the Zionist State forbids such an identity internally
