FIRED FROM HIS JOB FOR DISCUSSING HISTORY OF ZIONISM
On this day in 2018, Stan Keable was dismissed from his job with Hammersmith and Fulham Council after 17 years unblemished service as a housing officer, for having “brought the Council into disrepute” by saying during a conversation on a public demonstration that the Zionist movement collaborated with the Nazi regime – a well documented historical fact. An employment tribunal judge ruled that Stan’s was “an unfair dismissal”. Labour controlled Hammersmith and Fulham council said it would appeal the judgement.
Stan made the comparison on March 26 2018 in a conversation in Parliament Square – nothing to do with work – while participating in the Jewish Voice for Labour demonstration in support of Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party, called in opposition to the rightwing ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration.
The BBC’s David Grossman tweeted a 105-second video clip of the conversation, which was retweeted by Tory MP Greg Hands to London Hammersmith & Fulham Council Labour leader Stephen Cowan, and was then used by the Council to sack Stan from his job.
Unison withdrew support because Stan rejected the advice of their regional organiser to plead guilty, thus throwing away the right to demonstrate and to freedom of speech. One example of Zionist leaders collaborating with the Nazis, even towards the end of WWII.
Rudolf Kasztner, a Hungarian Zionist leader, negotiated with Eichmann for 1,684 Hungarian Jews to leave for Palestine via Switzerland in exchange for misleading the majority on the fate that awaited them. In 1953 the Israeli Government unsuccessfully sued Malchiel Gruenwald for accusing Kasztner of being a collaborator. The judge said Kasztner, who was assassinated in 1957, “had sold his soul to the devil”.
Stan Keable wrote on February 4th, 2020:The employment tribunal's reinstatement order expired on January 30th, but H&F council is digging its heels in and has not taken me back, despite not getting a "stay" of the order. Instead, as well as appealing the unfair dismissal decision (the "liability judgment") they are now also appealing the "remedy judgment" - ie, reinstatement with full back pay. So - more expensive barrister battles in the Employment Appeals Tribunal over the next few months - expensive for me, but even more costly for the council, at public expense. And when those appeals are both rejected, as I fully expect, if they still won't do what the judge says then I suppose it will be back to the ET for another remedy hearing. Your continuing support is much appreciated.
Labour members say anti-Semitism crisis “invented” - Asa Winstanley in ei
Almost three quarters of the UK Labour Party’s members agree that the anti-Semitism crisis in the party has been “invented or wildly exaggerated.” That’s according to a new survey by the influential pollster Michael Ashcroft. Only 22 percent of members who took part in the poll agreed that “anti-Semitism was a real problem” in the party.
Since Jeremy Corbyn – a left-wing activist who had long been involved with the Palestine solidarity movement – was elected Labour’s leader in 2015, the party has been targeted by a sustained disinformation campaign, smearing Corbyn and party members as anti-Semitic.
Released on Monday, the poll of Labour members shows that 73 percent agreed with the statement that “Anti-Semitism in the Labour Party was invented or wildly exaggerated by the right-wing media and opponents of Jeremy Corbyn.” The figure is even higher – 92 percent – among members of Momentum, the party faction founded to back Corbyn.
10-minute video: ex-Labour MP Chris Williamson was the only MP in the serried ranks of the Westminster parliament who stood up to the fake anti-semitism smears.
