BDS PROTEST LED TO BIZARRE RACISM CHARGES
On this day in 2014, a sizeable BDS protest took place in Braehead Shopping Centre against an Israeli Dead Sea cosmetics stall. Two SPSC members, Mick Napier and Jim Watson, were arrested, held for three days and charged with racially aggravated offences. The racism charge was based on the blood symbol in a placard referring to 2,200 Palestinians recently killed in Gaza. The PF claimed the blood symbol referred to a medieval myth that Jews killed Christian children to use their blood in Jewish religious festivals.

في مثل هذا اليوم من عام 2014، تم تنظيم احتجاج كبير في مركز للتسوق في مقاطعة برايهيد (جلاسكو) ضد كشك مستحضرات التجميل الإسرائيلي من البحر الميت. تم القبض على اثنين من أعضاء حملة التضامن الإسكوتلندية مع فلسطين، ميك نابيير و جيم واتسون، واحتُجزوا لمدة ثلاثة أيام واتُهموا بجرائم متعلقة بالعنصرية. واستندت تهمة العنصرية إلى رمز الدم في لافتة حملة التضامن التي تشير إلى 2200 فلسطيني قتلوا مؤخرا في غزة. لكن النائب العام ادعى أن رمز الدم يشير إلى أسطورة من القرون الوسطى تتهم اليهود بقتل أطفالً مسيحيين لاستخدام دمهم في الاحتفالات الدينية اليهودية.
