5 November
On 5th November 1990, Rabbi Meir Kahane was assassinated in New York. He was the founder of the Judeo-Nazi Kach, committed to the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians. A Kahane follower carried out a massacre of Palestinian worshippers in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron four years later. In February 2019, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu brokered an electoral deal between the small Kahanist Otzma Yehudit Party and another extreme right grouping to extend the influence of his Likud-led bloc.

After a Career of Preaching Hatred for Arabs, Rabbi Meir Kahane Is Cut Down by An Assassin's Bullet
The murder triggered a furious outcry among Kahane’s supporters in New York City and Israel. Early the next morning in a West Bank village, a man killed two elderly Palestinians, possibly in retaliation for the attack. At a funeral service in Brooklyn before his body was flown back to Israel for burial, Kahane’s supporters chanted, “Mavet La ‘aravim, Mavet La ‘aravim “—”Death to the Arabs! Death to the Arabs!”In their anger, they were being true to their leader. For Kahane, who professed to be defending Jews from the threat of another Holocaust, often sounded coldly brutal himself. He routinely referred to Arabs as “dogs” and demanded that they be expelled from Israel and the occupied territories. “We must throw the Arabs out,” he once told PEOPLE...He denounced any Jews who had sexual relations with an Arab.
Kahane served one term in Israel's Knesset,In 1988. During his term he was suspended for swearing at an Arab member and waving a noose at him. Kahane was founder of the 'Jewish Defense League' and the Israeli political party Kach. In 1971, he was sentenced to a suspended five-year prison sentence for conspiring to manufacture explosives. In 1975, he was arrested for leading the attack on the Soviet United Nations mission and injuring two officers, but he was released after being given summonses for disorderly conduct. Later the same year, Kahane was accused of conspiring to kidnap a Soviet diplomat, bomb the Iraqi embassy in Washington, and ship arms abroad from Israel. He was convicted of violating his probation for the 1971 bombing conviction and was sentenced to one year in prison. However, he served most of it in a hotel, with frequent unsupervised absences, because of a concession over the provision of kosher food. According to a recent biography, The False Prophet by Robert I. Friedman, Kahane worked during the ’60s as an FBI informant.
Kahane was eulogised by many prominent Israeli Rabbis, including Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Mordechai Eliyahu, who spoke of how little the people understood of Kahane's "true value". He praised the Kahane's "inner qualities, the delicacy of his soul" while promoting the ethnic cleansing of Arab "dogs":
"Who awakened the Israeli people and the entire world from their slumbers, with regard to Russian Jewry? Who was it who predicted that Russian Jews would yet come out of their exile? It was Rabbi Meir Kahane – may God avenge his blood! I can mention now the number of agunoth I asked him to act on behalf of – thanks to his efforts we succeeded in saving a goodly number of agunoth. He saved many Jewish women from non-Jewish hands!"
Racistass murderer Baruch Goldstein swore to take revenge for the killing of Kahane. Goldstein was elected to Kiryat Arba city council near Hebron and in this capacity assisted in establishing a memorial park dedicated to Kahane.
On 25 February 1994, Goldstein killed 29 Muslim worshippers in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, West Bank. several as young as twelve, and wounded 125.
Yakov Rabkin in Mondweiss:
On my recent visit to Tel Aviv, I stayed in Ben-Gurion Boulevard, a stone’s throw from the house in which Ben-Gurion, the founder of the Zionist state, used to live. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is full of young people, filling up cafés and restaurants, milling around on foot, but mostly on the ubiquitous electric scooters, quite a few with a yoga mat slung across the shoulder. This population is largely oblivious of the Torah and its commandments, and a few extant synagogues stand mostly empty. On the day I went there, the Great Synagogue, built to accommodate a thousand worshippers, attracted barely twenty persons to its Sabbath morning service, traditionally the most frequented of the three daily prayers.Politically, central Tel Aviv is considered left or apolitical. Some deplore its hedonistic values, others denounce its lack of nationalist fervour. It was thus surprising to see on one of the houses a painted slogan of the ultra-nationalist Kach movement: a clenched fist with the slogan “Only thus!” (Rak kach). Arguably, it would be hard to find disciples of Rabbi Meir Kahane, the founder of Kach, in this gentrified and genteel neighbourhood.
[But s]ettler colonialism has its own implicit logic, regardless of minor hues and nuances in political discourse. Kahane grasped this logic and had the zealot’s courage to make it explicit. Time proved him right. Moreover, nowadays Israel has come to inspire exclusive ethnic nationalists and white supremacists around the world, from Poland to Bolivia.
4-minute video of annual 'Jerusalem Day' march. Thousands of young Israelis rampaging through the Old City of occupied Jerusalem (17 May 2015) chanting “Death to the Arabs” and other racist and anti-Muslim slogans. Some attacked bystanders and journalists and banged on the shutters of Palestinian stores that had been ordered to close at midday.
Israeli intellectual Yeshayahu Leibowitz warned that Israel was becoming more Kahanist, turning its soldiers into "Judeo-Nazis". He wrote that if "the law...can allow the use of torture as a way of getting confessions out of prisoners, then this testifies to a Nazi mentality." Leibowitz would not be allowed to join Starmer's Labour Party sinc e his remarks violate the bogus IHRA definition of anti-semitism.
